Fun Little Weekend!!

This weekend was a blast!!!  Brody and I got up Saturday morning and went to watch Betty and Campbell's U6 soccer game.  Brody had a great time playing on his blanket with Madeline and Jane while I cheered on the girls.  After the game we headed back to the Sutherland household where Brody played with the girls and Will non stop.  He loved all of their new and exciting toys and not to mention all the attention they gave him.

Sunday, Grandma and cousin Hayden and Elliott came down to go to the "touch a truck" event at Keenland.  It to was a blast!! Hayden and Elliott loved checking out the Keenland Starting Gate, the go carts, and the hot air balloon.  Brody just loved all the green grass he could crawl around in.

I am so glad that Brody got to visit with his two older cousins.  We only live an hour and a half away from them but with all their activities and our busy schedule it seams we only get to see them on Holidays.  When they first arrived Elliott wanted to feed Brody his baby food so we put Brody in his highchair and instructed Elliott on how to feed him.  I guess Grandma and I should have been more descriptive in our explanation because he literally just "stuck it in there."  Poor Brody cried and Grandma and I just laughed.  He did better on his second try but he was not to excited about feeding him after that.  The other funny moment of the day was when Elliott asked me to tell Brody to stop spitting on him while ridding in the car.  Brody just loves to blow raspberries in his car seat and I often find him all wet when I get him out.  Elliott unfortunately got quite the shower on the way to Keenland.

New New New!!

Getting so BIG!!

I feel like Brody is changing everyday right before our eyes.  He goes to bed one day and wakes up the next with all sorts of new achievements mastered.  He is now crawing like a champ, and has figured out that the house extends outside of the living room.  He pulls up, and cruises on anything he can. All of these new activities leaves me always redirecting his attention or telling him no.  It can be exhausting.  I feel like during bath time all I ever say to him is, "stay on your bottom."

We have also tried a few new foods.  We still LOVE any meat, and now can add Buffalo and Tuna to that list.  One night for dinner we had buffalo sloppy joes and Brody LOVED IT!!!. I knew that it would be quite the mess so this rookie Mom was smart enough to know we needed to eat the sloppy joes somewhere outside, and what better place but in the baby pool.

Tuna was a hit too, even if it was mixed with bananas!!! Eww Gross!!

We have also really enjoyed waling to the park to swing.  The swings make Brody giggle so much, that I am not sure if even has enough time to breath in between his giggles.  On our last park trip we even tried the slide, but it was pretty uneventful.

Sara

Sara

Now that Kaitlyn is gone, we have a new Nanny.  Her name is Sara and we couldn't be happier with her.  Sara is so kind and  nurturing,  that Brody has taken to her very well.  Unfortunatly for Sara though she has been put to the test immediatly.  Poor "Little Buddy" has had a double ear infection, and four teeth coming in all at once.  Fortunatly for us Sara seams unfazed and has been great helping us get Brody through this trying time.  We are currently on our second round of antibiotics so hopefully we will be ear infection free soon.

Sara and Brody have been so busy exploring new things.  Sara helped him finally master crawling, they discovered the garbage man, they have been to story time at the library, and have even swam and played with a bug.

Dave and I are so thrilled to have found someone to care for Brody the way Kaitlyn has, and while Kaitlyn still is irreplaceable we also love Sara for who she is and what she has brought to Brody's life.  I am certain they will share many more adventures as time goes on.

Bugs are cool!!
