1st Broken Bone goes to...........Jett!

Who would have thought that out of our two boys Jett would be the one to break a bone first?  I'm pretty sure if you polled our entire family and group of friends they all would have said Brody would definitely break the first bone.  Crazy thing is, out of all the wild things the boys do Jett broke his left leg falling off a swing that wasn't even moving and the swing was only a foot and half off the ground.

The evening the event happened we didn't even know it was his leg that he had hurt.  We were hanging out in the backyard with our neighbor Erica and her daughter Evelyn and Jett slipped off the swing and cried forever.  We all thought he bent his arm back.  Dave and I just took turns holding him since he was unwilling to get down and play again.  He did continue to wine and cry at times, but he is the little boy who cried wolf so we really didn't put much thought into it.  Later that night we realized he wouldn't put weight on his leg, but since he has done this before we decided to wait and see how he was in the morning.

That next morning I woke him up before I left for work and he still wouldn't bare any weight on his leg so Dave took him into the pediatrician.  They x-rayed his leg and saw no obvious injury and said it was likely a sprain.  Fast forward a five more days and two orthopedic doctor visits Jett was in a cast.  Dave and I gave it sometime but we both agreed that it wasn't improving fast enough and after a multitude of opinions we decided to follow Dr. Harrod's advice and we had it casted.  The cast ended up being the best decision.  Once the fracture was stabilized Jett was off running and jumping.  He even hiked 3 miles the weekend before getting the cast removed.  His cast is now off and he is back to his normal self.

1st Camping Trip of 2017

This past weekend we spent camping at the RRG for the first time this year.  A few of Dave's friends also camped with us, and I must say I think everyone had a great time!

The boys got little sleep but surprisingly were in great moods.  I on the other hand didn't sleep well, and was a bit cranky Saturday morning but was able to snap out of it pretty quick.  I guess I underestimated the difficulty sleeping in the trailer while pregnant.

Jett 2nd Birthday!

Jett your second year really has flown by.  You have really come into your own and we just love the little personality you have.  You are the boy of two extremes.  You are still very happy, cute, smiley, snuggly, or mad, crying and hate to say it but annoying.  Lucky for us and you your episodes of unhappiness are outnumbered by your happy moments.

You are so smart.  You LOVE to learn and are very interested in your letters.  Your verbal skills are above average.  Your favorite things to say are, "help me pease," "chocit milk," meaow (you love to pretend you are a cat), and "mon" (come on).

You love to play "baket ball," jump on the bouncy house, and just be outside.  Your favorite foods are any kind of meat, apples, and bananas.  You love to eat but are still so skinny.  I believe you were in the 79% in height but the 29% percentile for weight.

For your party this year we had our friends and grandma over.  We ended up having a mad house of kids and adults.  You missed your nap that day so sadly you were pretty cranky for a decent part of the day but I think you still had a great time before you got tired and after a late nap.

Nana and Clark had hosted a second party for you a few weeks later since they were out of town on the day we choose for your party at our house.  Nee Nee, Pa Paw, Aaron and Holly attended and you had a blast playing with your new toys, eating yummy food and getting lots of attention from everyone.

You sure are loved little buddy and I hope you stay our snuggly little boy forever!!
