The Fair With Grandma

Grandma came to visit and we took the boys to the fair.  The rides were sketchy, and the prices were high so I doubt we will go back but the boys sure had fun.  Brody rode rides with Jett and it was so nice to see them having fun together.  Grandma splurged and paid for the boys to take a camel ride.  I would have bet 100$ Jett wouldnt have done it but he hoped right up on that camel.  He seemed to love it but directly after riding the camel we went to the petting zoo and he wouldn't go near any of the animals but instead just threw carrots over their cages.

Tristan Turns 1!

Ohhhh T, you are ONE and I can't hardly believe it.  My eyes well up with tears just writing this entry.
You are such a blessing to us all!  It amazes me how you really seem to be the glue that pulls us all together.  Before you were born I knew someone was missing from our family and we all loved each other but our family did not feel whole.  As soon as you were born I knew it was you that we were missing.  You pull us all together.  Brody and Jett both LOVE you more than I even imagined they would.  Even your Dad, who doesn't love babies has enjoyed your babyhood.  You are almost always smiling, and have the cutest little scrunched nose, bashful smile.

We celebrated your birthday early in Florida this year so we could all be together.  Your brothers helped you blow out your candle and you ate your vegan cupcake.  You are still allergic to dairy, eggs and rice.

The night before you actual birthday turned out to be exactly what I wanted it to be.  We traveled home that night and although that seems odd to be so perfect it gave me the opportunity to snuggle you.  If we were home I would have likely held you a little longer but placed you in your crib for the night only to have you awaken to being one year old.  Since we were traveling late you slept in my arms on the plane for almost 2 hours.  I stared at your fat cheeks, your cute little nose and your long eyelashes that surround the most sparkly eyes.  Once we landed you were happy but clung to me a bit confused.  We got our stuff and you were so patient for it being 11pm.  We made it to Nana and Clarks house where I gave you another bottle and held you until you fell asleep again.  It was so wonderful to have so much time just you and I in the last few hours you were a "baby."  Instead of looking back I am looking forward and I just can't wait to see your little personality come alive.

Little Tid bitds about you:
You weigh 20#
You like most food.
Your hair is light auburn
Your eyes may be more green than blue I just can't decide
You have 5 teeth
You crawel and pull up
You can wave Hi and Bye
You have said, Hi, Bye, night night, daddy, Bra or De De for Brody, Ett for Jett, ish for Fish, Mama and Da Da.

Family Vacation 2018

This year for our family vacation we returned to the beach in Ponte Vedra.  This would probably be the first time Jett really "saw" and appreciated the beach/ocean.  I wish I could have been there to see his face but my parent drove Brody and Jett down a few days before Dave, Tristan and I flew down.
When we arrived we found out that our normal condo had a water leak and we were all shacked up another condo together.  My parents took the brunt of this, sleeping on air mattresses in the loft every night all while fielding calls about the water damage in their condo.  They did a good job hiding their stress because we all still had a wonderful time and I enjoyed us all being together.

Brody absolutely fell in love with boogie boarding and "fighting the waves."  He stayed in the ocean most of every day.  When asked his favorite part of vacation was, "breaking all the rules."  We pretty much let the kids wake and stay up as late as they wanted and surprisingly they did fine and never got to tired and cranky.  They also got to eat and drink anything they wanted.  I know they enjoyed this and coming home will be a rude awakening.

Jett was a bit of a chicken when it came to the ocean and never really wanted to go out in in the waves.  He did make huge strides in his swimming capabilities.  He is now able to swim 10-12 feet completely unassisted.  He will not come up for air so his capabilities are limited to one breath.  Jett never officially napped this whole trip but did sleep once on the beach and once on the living room floor in the midst of everyone walking over him.

Tristan, did not love the beach at first and despite my greatest efforts would not nap well on the beach even in the tent I bought.  He did LOVE eating sand an eventually loved the waves splashing up on his feet.  He also stayed up later than normal and usually remained pretty happy.  We celebrated his first birthday a little early since Dave was flying out early and it would just be me with him on his actual birthday.  We all sung Happy Birthday to him and his two big brothers helped him blow out the same candle that was used on Brody's first birthday cake.

It was a wonderful vacation and I can't wait till all the boys are old enough to hang at the beach all day.   We really had so much fun again this year!!!
