Well it's been a crazy last few weeks. For starters I went back to work and Sara now has both boys full time. The transition went pretty well. Jett went on strike and became picky about bottle feeding but with some new bottles we have gotten that straightened out. Brody woke up on my first day back to work and refused to wear a diaper. We decided to go with it and started the potty training adventure. Dave has been out of town a lot and I have learned that although it's not easy I am able to juggle 2 kids, and work fairly well. It is definitely easier when he is around to help with all of life's tasks. Friday was my last day at St Joe main and tomorrow I start my new job at East. I'm nervous but looking forward to a better work environment and schedule.
So let's talk more about Jett. Jett is now a few days shy of three months. He is super smiley and becoming much more aware of his surroundings. He recently found his arm and hand and is mesmerized that he can make it move. It is pretty funny to watch him focus on his arm or hand while turning it ever so slowly. He still really has no feeding schedule or consistent amount he likes to be fed. Sometimes it's 3 oz and sometimes it's 9. About the only thing we know for certain is he doesn't like to be fed right away when he wakes up. Speaking sleeping he is doing pretty well. I'd say he sleeps from 9:30-7 most nights but wakes to nurse around 3am a few nights a week. He doesn't really nap or have any sort of schedule throughout the day. I'm not sure if that's just him or if it's our fault since we still revolve around Brody's schedule. One really cute thing he does everyday is giggle, smile and curl his whole body up when taking his jamies off each morning. He acts like it just tickles all over. It's pretty darn cute. I'm still having a bit of trouble with his clothing. He is just as big if not bigger than Brody so the clothes he fits in now are the wrong season. We are making do for now though.
So like Inmentioned before Brody is now potty training. That morning when he woke for Sara he cried and told her his diapers were broke and he wanted to wear underwear. We decided to go with it and he did great. I knew once he decided it was time to potty train it would be easy, but we just had to wait till it was his idea. So far it has been pretty easy. He tells you when he has to lee and really has had very few accidents. Now pooping....... That's another story. For starters we knew he wasn't ready for underwear at night or nap so we bought "good nights." Basically these are diapers made to look like underwear. Brody wasn't so sure they were not diapers and it took lots of convincing but he now calls them his nighttime underwear. He has started holding his poop till he gets his "nighttime underwear" on. I'm ikay with that and each time he poops in them I tell him we need to loop in the potty not our underwear but we havnt made a big deal if it. We try and get him to sit in the potty and poop but he is convinced that you should always "turn around." He had always wanted to lee standing up so when we convince/bribe him to sit downhe tells us over and over, "no, turn around." This wouldn't be so much of a problem if he always pooped in his nighttime underwear. Every few days we catch a time where we can tell he needs to pool so we bribe him to sit down in the potty. He will sit there if entertained for 30 min or so but has only once actually pooped in the potty. Most of the time he sits there forever, then gets up, turns around and poops right on the floor. The hard part is he thinks this is right and claps for him self while saying, "yay Brody two gummy bears." We all are at a loss and have tried a million different ways to convince him/show him that you sit down to poop. He still insist you must "turn around." I guess he will eventually figure it out, I just hope it is sooner rather than later.
