Life sure is busy with two kids. So busy in fact that sometimes you need a break from it all. Last weekend Dave and I got away and spent some much needed quality time together. Sara kept Jett and my parents, mostly my Dad kept Brody. It was a much needed getaway.
Dave and rented a small cabin at the gorge and despite bad weather predictions we had a great time rock climbing, and enjoying the local cuisine. Most of the day we were out of cell service so the temptation to check in the boys was pretty much gone. We were able to just focus on each other and remembering who we were when we started this whole journey.
The Rick climbing was super fun!!! I have always loved that Dave pushes me to try new things and most of the time it's a little out of my comfort zone but once I try it I love it. Add rock climbing to this list. The first climb I made I wanted to quit so bad at least 10 times but I made it to the top and once I came down I was so happy I almost felt like crying. It's great to push your self and to succeed. We spent most of Saturday hiking and climbing and finished the day with dinner and time in the hot tub. Overall it was a fabulous weekend and I hope we make it a priority to get away more often. It makes us a stronger couple and better parents.
